1) pass --enable-optimize to configure (or add it to your ~/.mozmyconfig.sh), re-run configure and rebuild 2) add "setenv XPCOM_CHECK_THREADSAFE 0" to your ~/.cshrc This turns off the code that checks that the thread calling AddRef() and Release() is the owning thread.
