Description

This testcase specifies the customization (add/removal of buttons) in the Mail toolbar.

Visual: Under Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups, you should see:

A groupbox entitled with "Select the buttons you want to see in the toolbar". Under this should be the following: File | Next | Print | Stop | Junk

Defaults: All toolbar buttons are enabled by default in the 3-pane, alt-pane, and stand-alone window.

Important note: the stand-alone window inherits the settings from either the 3-pane or alt-pane, depending on which you've chosen to display.

3-Pane (includes stand-alone window):

A. Verify that Get Msgs, Compose, Reply, Reply All, Forward, File, Next, Delete, Junk, Print, and Stop are available in the 3-pane mail window.

  • Double-click a mail message and verify that Get Msgs, Compose, Reply, Reply All, Forward, File, Next, Delete, Junk, Print, and Stop are available in the 3-pane mail window.
  • Double-click a news message and verify that Get Msgs, Compose, Reply, Reply All, Forward, File, Next, Delete, Junk, Mark, Print, and Stop are available in the 3-pane mail window.

Alt-Pane (includes stand-alone window)

A. Go to Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups | Windows and click on the radiobutton for the image to the right (which has the dark left portion at the top). Click OK. Restart the application.

  • Verify that Get Msgs, Compose, Reply, Reply All, Forward, File, Next, Delete, Junk, Print, and Stop are available in the alt-pane mail window.
  • Double-click on a message and make sure that the above buttons are still enabled.
  • Double-click a news message and verify that Get Msgs, Compose, Reply, Reply All, Forward, File, Next, Delete, Junk, Mark, Print, and Stop are available in the 3-pane mail window.

Customization:

All enable/disable settings are found in the Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups preference section. (Do this for both 3-pane and alt-pane configurations.)

  • A. In Edit | Preferences | Mail & Newsgroups, uncheck all of the checkboxes.
  • Click OK.
  • On a mail account, verify that the toolbar now only shows: Get Msgs, Compose, Reply, Reply All, Forward, Delete
  • On a news account, verify that the toolbar now only show: Get Msgs, Compose, Reply, Reply All, Forward, Mark
  • Begin enabling buttons back, one by one, by checking the box next to the button and clicking OK. Verify that the button returns the toolbar. (Both stand-alone and the 3-pane or alt-pane toolbars.)
  • Try re-enabling combinations of random buttons and verify that they reappear.
