Opener

The Opener object is a direct property of the global object. Most people use it through window.opener, although opener would be enough. It is retrieved using GlobalWindowImpl::GetOpener() in nsGlobalWindow.cpp. The Opener object is part of the "DOM Level 0".

The Opener Object is in fact a window. That means that all properties and methods described for the Window object are also available for Opener. For example one can use window.opener.document to retrieve the document of the parent window.
